†††† The purpose of this program is to promote visitation and friendly competition at the chapter level. Any and all chapter "participants", to include North Carolina District and Region N staff, may participate in the capture of the Western Travelerís Plaque.
†††† A minimum of four (4) North Carolina GWRRA members, representing their home Chapter, is required to capture the Western Travelerís Plaque. With a 24 hour notice, a District Team or a Region N Team member (maximum of 1) may stand in for you as a member; however, if the District Team members are standing with their home chapters, there is no maximum.
Family members, whether primary, secondary or family, accompanying a GWRRA member to a meeting may be counted toward the minimum number of chapter members required for plaque capture eligibility. However, tickets for the drawing are only issued to the family's GWRRA member and 01 member (husband and wife OR wife and husband will each receive one (1) ticket).
Each member will be required to show the Chapter Director a current GWRRA membership card upon request; the plaque may be captured by automobile or motorcycle; there is no minimum mileage required; the winner of the plaque will be determined by a drawing.
The chapter that has traveled the longest distance will receive one extra ticket.
The capturing Chapter Director is responsible for notifying the ADD for the West, Jerry Herman at firstname.lastname@example.org
†or phone 704-364-7705 or 704-840-0860 within 24 hours of capture.
Within thirty five (35) days of capture, starting the day and hour captured, the capturing chapter must make the plaque available at their next monthly meeting or at their scheduled Chapter Special Event, whichever comes first. If the capturing chapter has a planned special event which takes the place of their regular chapter meeting, then the plaque must be given away at that event. Once a chapter has captured the plaque, that chapter is not eligible to capture it at the next meeting or special event; however, if no other chapter is present to claim the plaque, then the previous chapter that held the plaque becomes eligible. If the plaque sits idle for a second month, the minimum number of members required for capture is reduced to three (3). If a chapter does not have a regular meeting or special event scheduled within thirty five (35) days, ( or in December) then that chapter is not eligible to capture the plaque.†
The capturing chapter will attach a visitation bar to the Central Travelerís Plaque upon capture.
Each time a chapter captures the plaque their chapter's name will go into a drawing for $100.00. The chapter capturing the plaque the most times will receive permanent possession of the plaque. Any ties will be decided by a drawing. The $100.00 and permanent possession of plaque will be given away at the 2017 North Carolina District Operations Meeting.
†††† The inclusive dates for this program are from date of Operations Meeting in January to November 30 of each year.
This plaque retires on November 30th of each year.
Please get this plaque to Jerry Herman as soon as possible after November 30th.
